EXCELLENT Based on 38 reviews Posted on Donna ChavezTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Nirvana, along with my higher power and my own readiness, literally saved my life. Michael, Joshua, and the rest of the staff are professional and caring, putting clients needs first. Thank you for helping me get my life back!Posted on Lyle ScritsmierTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our son attended both residential and intensive outpatient programs. We were pleased with the services provided and with the substantial progress our son made during his stay. Nirvana has a committed staff and went to step beyond on several occasions. We particularly appreciated the assistance provided during the discharge process , including the next steps in guidance on potential providers. In particular , one of their counselors, Josh, was particularly helpful during the entire stay. He was available, kept us updated on our son's progress, discussed options, answered our questions, and was patient with us. Post discharge Josh continued to be available and is a great support to us. He truly cared about our son.Posted on Nicollette RomeroTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Nirvana has helped me so much with my alcohol addiction. Day by day Nirvana has helped build my spirits and helped me develop coping skills on how to continue my recovery.Posted on Amy MarekTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Joshua is apart of Nirvana staff and has made such a difference in my life and my recovery. He is the type of person that not only does his job well but goes above and beyond. He truly cares about every person that comes into this place and it shows. Personally from Day 1 for me at Nirvana he was there to pick me up and transport me to the RTC house where I first experienced what it felt like to be safe and feel like I was at home. He answered all my questions and encouraged me to feel comforted, supported, and know that I was I the right place. He became my case manager and always made sure I was heard and that what I needed assistance with, was taken care of. He has a gift that is surely being shared with every client that comes into this place. You are in good hands at Nirvana and I have nothing but good things to say about Joshua. Thank you so much for everythig you do! It makes a difference and you played a huge part in my experience and time at Nirvana. They r amazing I have almost 8 months b cuz of this programPosted on Brandon BucklandTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’m in my 20s and had been using opioids for almost a decade. I’d been in and out of rehabs, but nothing stuck. At Nirvana, the team treated me like a person, not a statistic. The combination of residential treatment and aftercare planning finally gave me the structure to stay clean. If you need help, don’t wait—call NirvanaPosted on GiGi LovesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had such a good experience with Nirvana staff and residents. The owner, Mike, and Hope and John helped me get prior authorization because my insurance wouldn’t cover my stay. Mario was firm but genuinely cares about everyone and always asked how you were doing and checked on you! The therapist didn’t let me make excuses and my therapist worked so hard with me to identify patterns and generational trauma that has plagued my family and my life for years! I’m so grateful! Thank you!Posted on Bridger RiceTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This program saved my life. I’m extremely grateful for every single staff member, and this program.

Levels of Care
Assessment and level-of-care planning
An assessment helps determine whether residential treatment, PHP, IOP or outpatient care fits your needs. We treat drug and alcohol use, primary mental health concerns and co-occurring conditions. Primary mental health treatment is available in residential, PHP and IOP settings.
Discuss current medication, recent substance use and withdrawal concerns before arranging travel from Prescott. Admission depends on clinical fit and availability.
Standard Outpatient Program (OP)
Outpatient care involves scheduled appointments without living at the program. Frequency depends on your treatment plan. If you live in Prescott, discuss whether attending care in Phoenix is practical and how local clinicians can support follow-up near home.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Our IOP meets five days weekly for three hours daily, typically 9 a.m. to noon or 6 to 9 p.m. You do not live at the program.
Before choosing an in-person schedule in Phoenix, discuss lodging, transportation and expenses beyond treatment. Ask whether telehealth or hybrid IOP is clinically appropriate and available for your circumstances.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Our PHP meets five days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., including one hour of breaks and lunch on-site. It provides a full day of care without a residential stay.
Discuss where you would stay and how you would attend each session before arranging care in Phoenix. Include work, caregiving and transportation costs in that decision.
Detox assessment and outside care
Nirvana does not provide on-site detox or acute withdrawal management. If medical detox is needed, an appropriate outside provider must address that need before admission to a suitable Nirvana program.
Seek medical guidance before suddenly stopping alcohol after prolonged heavy drinking or changing benzodiazepine use. See our detox assessment and referral information for the role of outside care.
When hospital-level care is needed
Nirvana does not provide hospital inpatient treatment. If an assessment identifies a need for hospital-level medical or psychiatric care, an appropriate outside provider must address it. Residential treatment is a separate level of care; any later admission requires clinical review.
Residential Treatment Program
Residential treatment involves staying at our Phoenix program. A registered nurse or licensed clinical social worker is on-site 24/7, with psychiatric visits two to three times weekly and on-call physician availability.
Discuss time away from Prescott, responsibilities at home and follow-up care before admission. Residential family sessions can take place through telehealth.
Therapy and skills in an individual treatment plan
CBT examines links between thoughts, feelings and behavior. In substance use treatment, it can help people recognize situations that increase the urge to use and practice coping responses. Ask which skills fit your treatment goals and how to practice them after returning to Prescott.
DBT skills include mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and communication in relationships. Ask your clinician whether DBT-informed work fits your needs and what support you would need between sessions.
ACT focuses on responding differently to difficult thoughts and feelings while taking actions guided by personal values. Discuss whether this approach fits your needs and how to carry that work into routines at home.
Contingency management uses incentives for specific treatment goals, such as attendance or verified abstinence. Ask whether a structured incentive approach is available and appropriate in your treatment plan; a description here does not promise a particular reward.
EMDR is a trauma-focused therapy used for PTSD. It involves processing trauma memories while paying attention to a back-and-forth movement or sound. A clinician should assess readiness and whether it fits your needs; it is not a universal treatment for substance use.
Exposure-based therapy involves gradually approaching safe situations or memories a person has been avoiding. For trauma-related symptoms, it requires assessment and guidance from a qualified clinician. Discuss suitability and follow-up rather than assuming every plan includes exposure work.
