Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Treatment for Scottsdale Adults
Adults in Scottsdale can explore alcohol, drug and mental health treatment at our Phoenix facilities. Discuss clinical fit, program attendance, outside withdrawal-care needs and insurance benefits before admission.
Alcohol, drug and mental health care in Phoenix for Scottsdale adults
Nirvana Recovery serves adults from Scottsdale at our Phoenix facilities. We do not operate a Scottsdale treatment location. An assessment helps determine the level of care that fits your needs and current availability.
Our adult programs include residential treatment, PHP, IOP and outpatient care for alcohol or drug concerns. We also offer mental health-primary residential, PHP and IOP paths when clinically appropriate, as well as care for co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions.
We do not provide on-site medical detox, acute withdrawal management or hospital inpatient care. If you need those services, an appropriate outside provider must address that need before a transition to our program can be considered.
Discuss your full treatment schedule, prescriptions, travel and expected costs before admission. Before returning to Scottsdale, arrange clinical follow-up separately from independent peer support.
EXCELLENT Based on 38 reviews Posted on Donna ChavezTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Nirvana, along with my higher power and my own readiness, literally saved my life. Michael, Joshua, and the rest of the staff are professional and caring, putting clients needs first. Thank you for helping me get my life back!Posted on Lyle ScritsmierTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our son attended both residential and intensive outpatient programs. We were pleased with the services provided and with the substantial progress our son made during his stay. Nirvana has a committed staff and went to step beyond on several occasions. We particularly appreciated the assistance provided during the discharge process , including the next steps in guidance on potential providers. In particular , one of their counselors, Josh, was particularly helpful during the entire stay. He was available, kept us updated on our son's progress, discussed options, answered our questions, and was patient with us. Post discharge Josh continued to be available and is a great support to us. He truly cared about our son.Posted on Nicollette RomeroTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Nirvana has helped me so much with my alcohol addiction. Joshua is apart of Nirvana staff and has made such a difference in my life and my recovery. He is the type of person that not only does his job well but goes above and beyond. He truly cares about every person that comes into this place and it shows. Personally from Day 1 for me at Nirvana he was there to pick me up and transport me to the RTC house where I first experienced what it felt like to be safe and feel like I was at home. He answered all my questions and encouraged me to feel comforted, supported, and know that I was I the right place. He became my case manager and always made sure I was heard and that what I needed assistance with, was taken care of. He has a gift that is surely being shared with every client that comes into this place. You are in good hands at Nirvana and I have nothing but good things to say about Joshua. Thank you so much for everythig you do! It makes a difference and you played a huge part in my experience and time at Nirvana. Huge thank you to Nirvana for the opportunity to restart my life and heal from my alcohol and drug addiction. They r amazing I have almost 8 months b cuz of this programPosted on Brandon BucklandTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’m in my 20s and had been using opioids for almost a decade. I’d been in and out of rehabs, but nothing stuck. At Nirvana, the team treated me like a person, not a statistic. The combination of residential treatment and aftercare planning finally gave me the structure to stay clean. If you need help, don’t wait—call NirvanaPosted on GiGi LovesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had such a good experience with Nirvana staff and residents. The owner, Mike, and Hope and John helped me get prior authorization because my insurance wouldn’t cover my stay. Mario was firm but genuinely cares about everyone and always asked how you were doing and checked on you! The therapist didn’t let me make excuses and my therapist worked so hard with me to identify patterns and generational trauma that has plagued my family and my life for years! I’m so grateful! Thank you!Posted on Bridger RiceTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This program saved my life. I’m extremely grateful for every single staff member, and this program.
Treatment Options for Scottsdale Residents at Our Phoenix Facilities
Levels of Care
Intervention
An intervention discussion can help a family plan how to approach an adult about seeking assessment. Ask our team what support is available and whether an outside specialist is needed. Participation and treatment outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
Standard Outpatient Program (OP)
Standard outpatient care provides scheduled treatment while you live outside the facility. Your clinician determines the recommended appointments and treatment plan; contact admissions to confirm the current schedule and availability.
Discuss individual and group therapy, psychiatric assessment and medication needs with the team. Medication is prescribed only when clinically appropriate. Outpatient care does not include medical detox or overnight supervision.
Intensive Outpatient Program
Our Intensive Outpatient Program is based in Phoenix and meets five days per week for three hours per day. Typical sessions run 9 AM–noon or 6–9 PM; confirm your assigned schedule before planning work or travel.
Telehealth or hybrid participation may be available when clinically appropriate. You live outside the program, and IOP does not provide overnight care or medical detox. Discuss transportation and any housing needs before admission.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Our PHP provides structured daytime treatment in Phoenix five days per week, from 9 AM to 5 PM. The day includes a one-hour break and on-site lunch.
PHP does not provide overnight inpatient care or medical detox. The clinical team assesses whether it fits your needs and discusses therapy, psychiatric support and any prescribed medication. Confirm travel, housing and program availability before admission.
External Medical Detox Assessment and Referral
Nirvana Recovery does not provide on-site medical detox or acute withdrawal management. If an assessment identifies a need for withdrawal care or hospital stabilization, an appropriate external provider must manage that care before a transition to our program can be considered.
Our independent Scottsdale detox resource guide and SAMHSA’s treatment finder can help you compare options. Confirm each provider’s clinical services, admission location, payment arrangements and current availability directly. These listings do not establish a partnership or guarantee admission.
When Hospital-Level Inpatient Care Is Needed
Hospital-level inpatient treatment may be needed when an assessment identifies medical or psychiatric needs beyond a residential or outpatient program. Nirvana is not a hospital and does not provide hospital-level inpatient care or medical detox.
Our team can discuss outside assessment or referral needs. An external provider determines appropriate emergency, inpatient or withdrawal care. For a suspected overdose or immediate danger, call 911.
Residential Treatment Program
Our residential treatment program is at 15852 N 17th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85022. An RN or LCSW is on-site 24/7, with psychiatric visits two to three times weekly and on-call physician availability. Your individual plan may include therapy and medication management. Residential care does not provide hospital-level inpatient treatment or on-site medical detox; length of stay and next steps depend on assessment.
Therapy Approaches to Discuss with Your Clinician
Ask your clinician whether CBT is appropriate for your care plan, which treatment goals it will address and how you will review progress. Therapy selection is individualized and does not guarantee lasting sobriety.
Ask whether DBT-informed skills are part of your program and how they relate to your treatment goals. Discuss opportunities to practice skills and how your clinician will assess your response.
Discuss whether ACT is available and appropriate for your treatment plan. Ask your clinician how the approach will be used and which goals it will address. Therapy does not replace an assessment of withdrawal or medical needs.
Ask whether contingency management is offered in your assigned program and, if so, how it is structured. Rewards, gift cards or a particular incentive schedule are not promised by this page.
If you are interested in EMDR, ask your clinician whether it is available and appropriate for your needs. Discuss assessment, preparation and the goals of treatment before beginning. This page does not establish that trauma caused your substance use.
Discuss with your clinician whether an exposure-based approach is appropriate for your individual care plan and whether it is offered in your program. Do not attempt exposure exercises or change a withdrawal plan based on this page.
Overcoming Addiction
Planning Treatment from Scottsdale
Ask your team how nutrition, physical activity and mindfulness fit your individual care plan. These activities can accompany clinical treatment; they do not guarantee recovery or a return to any particular brain-chemistry level.
Adults from Scottsdale receive treatment at our Phoenix facilities. Group treatment offers opportunities to practice communication and discuss recovery with others. Your experience and outcomes will be individual.
The clinical team assesses your needs and reviews your treatment plan. Ask admissions about current staffing and the support available in the recommended program. A staffing arrangement does not guarantee a specific outcome.
Discuss the clinicians involved in your care, psychiatric assessment and any prescribed medication with the team. Residential care includes 24/7 on-site nursing or clinical support. Hospital-level inpatient care and medical detox require an outside provider.
Scottsdale RESOURCES
Planning attendance from Scottsdale
Our treatment facility is in Phoenix; we do not operate a Scottsdale location. Before choosing in-person PHP or IOP, compare its full five-day schedule with work, transportation and responsibilities at home. Ask admissions for the exact program address and check the trip at your assigned session times.
PHP meets five days weekly from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., including an hour of breaks and lunch on-site. IOP meets five days weekly for three hours a day, typically 9 a.m. to noon or 6 to 9 p.m. Plan both directions of the trip and a backup ride. Ask whether telehealth or hybrid IOP fits your clinical needs and access situation.
We are in-network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Cigna. Your individual benefits, authorization requirements and out-of-pocket costs need verification. We do not accept AHCCCS or Medicare. Discuss coverage and costs before arranging admission.
People seeking an AHCCCS care route can use the official AHCCCS provider directory to find providers by location and specialty. Confirm participation with your specific plan directly with the plan and provider. Nirvana does not accept AHCCCS or Medicare.

Phoenix and Scottsdale AA meetings
The Phoenix-area AA meeting directory includes Scottsdale meeting options. Compare meeting locations, times and formats with your weekly commitments, and confirm details before attending. These independent peer meetings may complement continuing care; they do not replace clinical treatment or medical withdrawal care.
Arizona NA meeting options
Use the Arizona NA meeting finder to compare location and virtual options. Check current schedules and participation details directly. Choose support you can realistically keep attending and arrange professional mental health or substance use follow-up separately.
Scottsdale RESOURCES
Planning your return to Scottsdale
Before leaving residential care, discuss a return-home plan for Scottsdale. Review clinical follow-up, prescribed medications, support at home and any need to continue PHP, IOP or outpatient treatment. The next step depends on your assessed needs; a discharge plan does not guarantee a particular outcome.
Confirm who will manage your prescriptions after discharge and when your next clinical appointment will take place. With your permission, your treatment team can discuss records and follow-up with your continuing-care clinician. Ask how to address a concern before the next scheduled visit.
Compare continuing-care schedules with work, caregiving and travel from Scottsdale. If daily attendance in Phoenix is not workable, discuss appropriate local care and whether telehealth or hybrid IOP is clinically suitable and available.
If you need a different living arrangement, discuss that separately from clinical treatment. Verify any housing provider’s costs, eligibility and rules directly. Peer meetings and housing resources do not provide medical detox or replace professional treatment.
Call 480-764-2335 to discuss our Phoenix programs, treatment fit and a benefits check. Resource information checked October 13, 2026. Confirm current services and meeting details directly with the independent providers.

For suicidal thoughts or emotional distress, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. 988 provides crisis support; a medical emergency or immediate danger requires 911.
